This demanding full-day tour begins in the small village of Champfèr, from where the hiking path leads through the woods into the Val Suvretta da San Murezzan. Passing the Alp Suvretta, you continue to where the trail forks off to the left and crosses the mountain stream. From here on, the route becomes steeper and quickly gains in altitude. The trail now leads along the ridge; particular care is called for along the narrow path. This Alpine tour requires a good deal of concentration, but your efforts are repeatedly rewarded with superb views. At 3,380m you have reached the peak. If visibility is good, you can see hundreds of mountain peaks spread out before you. For the descent, you can either retrace your steps back down into the valley, or continue the hike along the stony trail to the Alp Güglia, which eventually joins the road over the Julier Pass. The hiking trail now runs parallel to the pass road back into the valley, to Silvaplana.
Trails not always existent. Some sections require the use of hands. If present, SAW signs and markings are white–blue–white. Terrain already quite exposed, precarious grassy activities, jagged rocks, easy firn fields and snow-free glacier sections.
Requirements: Stable trekking shoes. Familiarity with exposed terrain. Basic ability to assess terrain and good orientation skills. Alpine experience. In the event of a sudden change in weather, retreat can be difficult.
