Old Haugen first floor is devoted memory of Christian Michelsen and was left largely as it was at his death in 1925. Already in 1927, the museum was opened to the public and only minor changes have been made since then. Museum section consists of a total of eight different rooms, each with its interesting sites and collected tells a lot about the upper class conditions at the beginning of the 1900s and about Christian Michelsen particular. The interior is a mix of contemporary national romanticism, art nouveau and older interior Michelsen has brought from its former home at Nygårdsparken. The second floor is unfortunately closed to the public. It was up here family Michelsen had their bedrooms. Here also had Michelsen office in the later years of his life. The gallery is open towards the hall is decorated with paintings on all walls. Like the library is also here a portrait of Christian Michelsen performed by Erik Werenskiold. Third floor has a variety of rooms that have been used for servants and perhaps guests. Downstairs also has storage for furniture and other things that are not included in the exhibition. Floor is substantially intact as it was in Michelsen time although some modernifiseringer has been done. Also on this floor is however closed to the public. The basement houses the Old Haugen operations department with workshop and office as well as an inhabited apartment. This feature may have had enough also Michelsen. From the basement was also central heat ruled in one of Bergen very first house with central heating.
