A novel compact printed microstrip antenna fed by an
asymmetric coplanar strip (ACS) for dual-band applications is
presented for WLAN applications. The proposed antenna was
characterized in terms of the return loss, radiation pattern, and
gain. The simulated result shows an impedance bandwidth
ranging from 4.151 GHz to 4.6 GHz, with respect to the
central frequency at 4.4 GHz for lower band, and a bandwidth
of 1.4 GHz (4.9–6.3 GHz), referred to the central frequency at
5.36 GHz at upper frequency band. The compact size of the
proposed antenna makes it suitable for wireless
communication applications.
