We studied the performance of a group of polyurethane membranes
in hydrocarbon separation and the effect of dense particles
like silica on its performance before [29,30]. Our results show that
PU can be a candidate in hydrocarbon separation. The objective of
this study is to prepare PU–zeolite composite membrane for the
separation of heavier Hydrocarbons from CH4. The effect of adding
zeolite on the solubility, diffusivity and permeation flux of individual
permeates (CH4, C2H6 and C3H8) is elucidated. The focus of the
current work is to evaluate the effect of Zeolites ZSM-5 and 4Å
loading on MMM performance. Finally, the effects of zeolite concentration
on the permeability and selectivity of gas separation
processing are studied. Zeolites and membranes are characterized
by XRD, SEM, TGA–DTA and FTIR.
