The meteorological needs of the A.CR could be met by locally gathered data using specified equipment
on real-time and specifiedtime
schedules.
A number of options may be developed to provide the
required meteorological information for predictive modelling.
One
that appears feasible now consists of upgrading the present Rayong
station, ettablishing a meteorological statioh in the DlPA at Map Ta
Phut as an operational responsilility of PTTI, and upgrading the
current DEQL7 Mobile Laboratory to provide temperature lapse rates,
mixing heights, and aloft wind speed and direction data. PTT is
selected for their central position as
gas supplier to DPA developments
and their recognized leadershil and jrofessional capabilities. Since
stability classes based on cloud cover are duscribed for temperate and
more northern latitudes, and most.predictive models used for AQM are
developed for climate zones cxperiencing 4 temerate zcne seasons and
without monsoon period,-, it is very imilrtant that meteorological data
be acquired for the DPA for purposes of modelling and determining the acceptability of integral cuission control systems for Franned
the DPA
industries.
