i have just 'discovered' this wonderful speaker. I disagree with with his 'assumption' that 100% of companies know the What of his circle, and certainly less of How. I do think more employees know the Why than do the managers. My personal experience is that in order for a company to succeed, this type of inspiration has to come from the top, and if the top does not fully understand the What and the How, then the Why has less meaning. I would love for this man to speak to my upper management. Change and commitment to change has to come from the top, once they know the What, How, and Why themselves.
Eg. he claims the limbic system is 'responsible for all human behaviour'. This is simply not true at all. I have limited space to explain why here, so do some research if you want to know more. One example, in the form of a question is "Why then does a stroke in the frontal lobe affect behaviour and emotion?"
Also, 'biology, not psychology'? He says that and then goes on about how parts of the brain are responsible for behaviour and emotion, etc. That's neuropsychology.
Absolutely incredible video, such a simple and profound message. For those who are spending time slicing the Details of accurateness are still in the "I'll be an employee for the rest of my life" category and can't ever make it into the center "Why" circle of making things happen.
You miss the message because your looking at the wrong thing. Yes there were also other elements but if the "Why" is communicated effectively (along with integrity, consistency and value) then all else elementry
