I first noticed hairs like these maybe 3-4 years ago and became obsessed with them because I could not understand how someone with thin, baby-fine hair could also have random thick, super kinky hairs. After a ton of obsessive research I (and I am NO doctor:D so this is just MY opinion) am convinced it has something to do with insulin resistance. A lot of articles I have read on the topic seem to mention the fact that people with insulin resistance have certain abnormalities happening to their bodies (excess hair or hair loss, hair follicle abnormalities which cause hair to grow thinner or thicker and in texture different from the rest, etc). I am just convinced these hairs are a direct result of something that isn't right within the body.
