Health & Safety
We have embarked on a journey to create a zero harm culture within our entire global organization. We have earmarked this journey as Realizing Zero. We are very proud of our historical HSE performance.
In our efforts to create a zero harm culture, we expect all Foster Wheeler personnel, contractors and clients to make a personal choice to work safely and to care for their co-workers by actively engaging in our global behavior based safety process, which is called HEART (Harm Elimination and Recognition Training). HEART is one of three pillars of our HSE management system, which emphasizes and empowers FW employees to engage in safety related conversations geared to reinforce safe work practices in addition to modifying at-risk behavior and conditions.
Another pillar of our HSE management system is a set of twelve field related activities, which have been tabbed as the Foster Wheeler Life Critical Activities. These Foster Wheeler Life Critical Activities are very similar to the internationally recognized OGP Life Safety Rules.
In addition to diligently managing field related activities, we have defined a set of Safe Office Behaviors which drive our actions within an office environment.
We have fully embedded these three pillars of our HSE Management System into all aspects of our work activity throughout the life cycle of a project handover and as part of our ‘Plan - Do- Check – Review’ approach to HSE management, lessons learned are fed back into our processes as an element of our continuous improvement model. Projects are executed with a disciplined HSE gate process to ensure all HSE related deliverables are addressed and accounted for throughout the course of the project.
These HSE processes are the foundation of an HSE culture that has generated performance which has been recognized worldwide with more than one hundred safety awards
