Multifilament warp yarns are always used in faille.larger weft spun yarns, plied yarns or several yarns grouped together are woven into a single weft rib.Faille is always considered a dressy more formal fabric,no matter what fibres are used.Because of the pronounced rib,the hand of the fabric is quite crisp.
The lustrous appearance and crisp hand, like taffeta, make faille a good choice for tailored design such as suits and sculptured silhouettes. However, faille is not as popular as taffeta because the more obvious ribbed surface may present design challenges, such as matching and balancing concerns.Faille fabric is not as tightly woven as taffeta,so slippage may also be a concern.
