A Grade Container | WWT(Wind and Water Tight) Guaranteed
A grade is a phrase used primarily by Container Resellers. Years ago when looking for a competitive way to categorize equipment from certain suppliers that just had a better look and feel than most of the typical equipment, we adopted this descriptive term. Nowadays its used industry wide and generally means the equipment is from a consistent and reliable source that handles the equipment a little better during its life as a Cargo Transport Container.
There is no absolute criterion for such a term, but in general we are confident in the product condition and offer a replacement Container if the product is not up to par...you don't get that guarantee with our B and C grade products. The photo to the right represents what a typical A Grade Storage Container would look like.
B Grade Container | WWT (As Is)
B grade is used to describe "As Is" units we purchase from our suppliers that offer no guarantees to the condition of the unit. This is our price leader and the product grade is ideal for contractors and other non-sensitive storage applications. If you have cosmetic requirements or location visibility concerns, this grade unit is not for you. It's a functional unit but will have heavy to light rust, corrosion, dings & dents.
This unit is also WWT(Wind & Water Tight), but cannot be exchanged for a new container if it is not. Typical remedies for below par units are price discounts or repair. We buy the unit "As Is" and sell it "As Is"...thus the reason for the heavy price discount. You may get a unit that is as good as an "A" grade unit when purchasing this product grade, but its luck of the draw as we have no control over selection. Its a great option for some but not for everyone. That being said, B grade units are still our most commonly sold product.
C Grade Container | Damaged
C Grade is set aside to describe Containers that have been damaged and cannot be repaired to become cargo worthy at an effective price point. These units are great for Container parts; flooring, doors, extra corrugation etc... The units are also often used in military applications for testing and demolition projects. The units are heavily discounted and are available for sale "as is", with no reps or guarantees.
Premium Grade Container | IICL (Cargo Worthy)
Premium Grade units are actively certified as Cargo Worthy by the IICL ( Institute of International Container Lessors). This is a co-operative of sorts, made up of many of the largest ISO Container and Chassis owners worldwide, who primarily lease to shipping lines and own roughly half of all Containers worldwide. This unit is typically 2-5 years old and is in superior structural and cosmetic condition to an A Grade Container. You can expect a 20% to 30% price increase for this product grade.
One Trip Container | One Trippers
The name says it all…One Trip across the ocean from Asia with a cargo load (used to offset the delivery cost to US). This is as close to a new Container as you can find in the US market without paying double the price for a unit manufactured in the US. One Trippers are ideal for high profile areas or modification projects that are cosmetically sensitive. These Containers are made of Corten Steel ; COR-TEN® is a type of weathering steel produced by US Steel that uses alloying elements such as copper, chromium, silicon and nickel to enhance the atmospheric corrosion resistance of the steel. These containers are manufactured, and painted in a controlled environment using multiple layer paint application; much like a car would be painted. This paint is made to withstand 10 plus years of heavy wear and tear as a Cargo Container and is far superior to the paint applied in most US depots during a modification or repair process.
If your project requires nothing less than the best Container available, this is the choice for you. The pricing for this unit is highly volatile, as its cost is directly tied to the trade demand worldwide.
