Associates expressed some concerns about working for RL. The greatest dissatisfiers were lack of promotion opportunities and lack of a sense of belonging. Focus Group participants talked about "the lack of a mentor" and about the fact that "upward mobility may be missing." They also talked about "and about “not having a sense of belonging, sharing, learning, and giving" and about "a sense of getting lost in the process." They expressed a need for "coaches to support/monitor developmental needs." They felt that more needed to be done to "invest in us as resources" and to "build skills for development
and future employability." As to specific developmental needs, they spoke of consulting, facilitation, human resources, and project management skills- They spoke also of needing to understand more about business trends and issues. And they spoke of needing better skills in job marketing and in personal interviewing and selling.
