Chemical composition of four type bamboo is presented in Table 3. It is shown that D-cellulose of four type bamboo are in the range of 44.36 – 48.60%. The higher D-cellulose content is obtained from Petung (individual bamboo). The values are above the average D-cellulose content of softwood (45 ± 2%). Wood or non-wood of high content D-cellulose is expected to produce high pulp yield. Purity cellulose is often expressed through the parameter D-cellulose. The D-cellulose is important in pulp industry because of its high degree of polymerization.
