Fig. 1 shows the structure of the three-phase PM motor
that we propose in this work. The permanent magnet of the
rotor is surface magnet type. In order to estimate the rotor
position by using the partial magnetic saturation, the gap
of the teeth of the stator core are bridged by the yoke of a
small section area, which functions as the saturable yoke.
Therefore, the partial magnetic saturation of the saturable
yoke is carried out with small pilot current. Also, parameters
of the proposed three-phase PM motor are shown in
Table 1.
