However, the sub-sample who participated in Phase 3, opening the meal trays (n = 24), did not show a normal distribution of grip and pinch strength values.
Consequently to investigate associations between grip and pinch strength and opening the ‘problematic packaging’ found in the sample meal trays, a Spearman’s Rho (non-parametric) test was conducted.
Significant relationships were found between grip and pinch strength and the ability to open tetra packages and pinch strength for biscuit packages. These results are shown in Table 3 below.
