Coordination of all phases of distribution and logistics activity among multiple local facilities and coordinates with customers, internal departments and external vendors as necessary.
Interfaces with suppliers to negotiate pricing and determines best economical mode of transportation.
Oversees carrier freight bill audit and payment program.
May coordinate activities of logistics staff.
Provides domestic scheduling for product movements.
Generates monthly estimated and actual cost reports on transportation activity.
Ensure compliance with all transportation and legal regulations.
Leads development and improvement efforts of department policies and procedures.
Oversees the production of reliable and accurate shipping documentation and inventory reports.
May assign tasks and workload to subordinates or team members to ensure optimal utilization of resources and capabilities.
Troubleshoots discrepan cies and works with team members and other departments to resolve.
Assists with projects and special reporting when needed.
