I-san area has many ethnic groups. The Tai Lao is one of those, which has a specific character of their culture and society. The vernacular houses of Tai Lao express the quality of simplicity, contentment, sincerity, and straightforward with their culture and environment. (Srisuro et al, 1997: 151) This reflected their peculiar aesthetics values and meanings. The process of cultural change that is displaced the aesthetic values of vernacular mode. So, I am interested in aesthetic dimension in cultural and environmental context of the local residents. This is also because research project on architecture in aesthetic dimensions in Thailand were little.
