Two cats who kept their cool despite the heat in the kitchen were honoured for heroism by Governor Pierre Du Pont. The pet cats, TiKi and Minet, woke up Susan Dyson, their mistress, from a nap one evening as smoke and flames began to fill her Wilmington home.
Mrs. Dyson, who was 24, said she was taking a nap after working in her kitchen.
" The cats came into the bedroom and made noise together," Mrs.Dyson said. "So I woke up."
The living room was filled with smoke and the kitchen was in flames. Mrs. Dyson alerted her neighbours who helped her put out the fire
