The New York Times is the same as The Bangor Daily News because both newspapers present the heroin laws. The laws on heroin are very important because they can show what people are going to encounter if they use heroin. Both newspapers write about this topic. The New York Times said, “yet the rise in heroin abuse here predated the restrictions on painkillers, leading some officials to blame the simple law of supply and demand. Distributors in New York see a wide-open market in northern New England, where law enforcement can be spotty and users are willing to pay premium prices.” The Bangor Daily News said, “law enforcement and public health officials have been warning of the rise in heroin use for months.” In my opinion, I think that proposing heroin laws is a good thing because drug abusers will know that a lot of people want to help them.
