When most people think of snakes, they think of them is very
dangerous reptile with a poisonous bite. Although all snakes have
teeth, not all snakes are poisonous.
Some people think the snake's tongue is dangerous. But this is not so.
the tongue is only used to touch and smell. A snake hears with its tongue, too.
Snakes are found in almost every part of the world except for the
frozen north and south. But, of course, not every country has the same
kinds of snakes, nor the same amount. In Britain, for instance, there are
only three kinds of snakes, and of these only one is poisonous. But in North
and south America, and in Africa, there are dozens of different. kinds
Some snakes are small, and measure only a few inches even when
they are full grown. Others can be over 40 feet long. A snake of same
kinds can be much heavier than a human body
Snakes are useful for a farm in many ways. They eat insects and small
animals that do harm to your crops. Snakes are usually afraid of men.
They will get away as soon as they see or hear you. Most snakes are not
poisonous. Killing a snake may mean Killing a helper in your farm.
