The activation energy and the frequency factor for the esterification reaction corresponded
to 13300 J/mol and 1.27 s-1, respectively (Zapata et al. 2007).
The mentioned kinetic models for the transesterificacion and esterification reactions and
the corresponding kinetic parameters were used for design of the continuous ideal pilot plant
(PPR) of palm oil methyl esters production in the Aspen HYSYS interface, that was then
used as tool to develop the full FEM-model of the PPR in COMSOL Multiphyisics
