Marco Reus (Dortmund)
The Metro are reporting that Manchester United will bid for German forward Marco Reus in January.
The current Premier League champions are ready to bring in reinforcements during the winter transfer window, with Reus a top target.
The Borussia Dortmund speedster has lit up the Bundesliga for the last few years, leading to rumours of interest from Chelsea and Manchester City. But United boss David Moyes is ready to make a bid for the 24-year-old.
The Bundesliga side, who face Arsenal in the Champions League in midweek, are likely to be keen to reject any offer for one of their prize assets. However, reports suggest Moyes is prepared to offer out of favour midfielder Shinji Kagawa as part of a deal to bring Reus to Old Trafford, should their initial £25million bid be rejected.
United have had a slow start to the Premier League season, losing to rivals City and Liverpool, as well as dropping points against Southampton and Chelsea. And despite having Rooney, van Persie, Hernandez and Welbeck at his disposal, Moyes is keen to strengthen his attacking options with the purchase of Reus, who can play out wide as well as down the middle.
Both ‘RVP’ and Rooney scored in United’s 3-0 win over Fulham.
Would you like to see Reus in a United shirt? Should Moyes focus on attacking options?
