Data for this study were obtained from a sample of intervention and control group families at 15 sites across the United
States that participated in the National Evaluation of Healthy
Steps for Young Children.
28 Healthy Steps is a new model of
pediatric care that incorporates child development specialists
and enhanced developmental services into pediatric practices
that serve families with young children.
The design was a randomization trial at 6 sites (up to 400 enrolled) and quasiexperimental at 9 sites (up to 200 enrolled at the intervention site and 200 at the comparison site).
