Stress
The job of air hostess is stressful emotionally. Despite long shifts and jet lag, she must maintain polite and and professional conduct toward difficult passengers. Sometimes passengers are drunk, angry or abusive. They often take out their frustrations over lost luggage or airline fees on flight attendants. Time spent far from family and worries over job uncertainty in difficult economic times also increase the stress of flight attendants, according to "The Christian Science Monitor."
