KUALA LUMPUR: The High Court will on June 19 hear Perkasa president Datuk Ibrahim Ali's application to set aside leave granted to Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to commence committal proceedings against him.
Judge Datuk John Louis O'Hara also ordered the parties to file their respective affidavits before the hearing date.
He fixed the date when the matter was mentioned before him yesterday.
Anwar had on Jan 17 made an application to cite Ibrahim and writer of an article Zainuddin Salleh for contempt of court.
The article, which allegedly made a personal attack on a High Court judge, was published on Jan 7 while a decision on Anwar's suit against Utusan Melayu (Malaysia) Bhd and its group editor-in-chief Datuk Abdul Aziz Ishak was pending.
Anwar had contended that the publication was a personal attack on the judge and intended to influence the outcome of the decision.
O'Hara granted leave to commence the committal proceedings on March 5.
