All strains of the Nannochloropsis genus were characterized by a rather high total content of carbohydrates. Unlike the above-mentioned Arthrospira and Dunaliella cultures, here lipid levels significantly decreased, while protein content increased (almost fivefold) under the conditions of maximum illumination and physiological stress compared to the cultures grown without such conditions.
