If registered nurses who are working in private hospitals in Bangkok tend to go abroad or private hospitals expand their operation for medical tourism, nurses from provinces might fill the vacancies in those hospitals. When the nurses in the public hospitals were asked whether they consider the domestic mobility (e.g., from their province to Bangkok), 13.1 percent of them clearly expressed their interests in working in private hospitals in Bangkok while 28.3 percent of them are not sure. Among those who expressed their inter-est in domestic mobility, about 70 per-cent of them are working under temporary contract as opposed to 30 per cent of the civil servants. More than 70 per-cent of married nurses are willing to stay as opposed to less than half of single women who answered the same.
