An active monogenetic volcano field and crustal movements associated with ongoing accretion
Formed in the place of collision of Izu Peninsula with Honshu, the volcanoes of Izu Tobu Volcano Group form one of the few monogenetic volcano fields located in Japan. These distinctive volcanoes surrounded by steep landforms formed by erosion of large terrestrial volcanoes present the observer a truly novel and marvelous landscape.
