a guaiane sesquiterpene, was first isolated
in 1983 by Kubota and co-workers from the essential oil of the
roots of Lindera glauca. The structure of aciphyllene was deduced
on the basis of spectroscopic analysis. In 1998, Konig and coworkers,
reported the isolation of aciphyllene along with a number
of sesquiterpene hydrocarbons from the liverwort Dumortiera
hirusta (Sw.) Nees collected near Sao Fransisco de Paula Rio Grande
do Sul (Brazil).
