Leaves and shoots for fodder: Like in the case of fruit and pod production,
age and/or development stage of harvested tree, stand of sampled trees and
size and composition of samples are criteria to be monitored and to be submitted
together with the yield data. In addition the following parameters are
of importance in order to achieve comparability of yields:
-yield figures obtained from trees formerly manipulated (e.g. lopped,
pollarded) or from those undisturbed
- presented yield data include or exclude unlignified shoots
- green weight, air dry weight or dry matter weight
- extent of harvest (e.g. complete foliage or as far as can be reached without
harvest aids other than panga/machette, clippers or hand saws, or lopping
of branches retaining only one, two or more leader shoots, etc.)
- number and timing of consecutive foliage harvests included in presenting
average yields
- gradient of harvest results
