Thank you for your data. I suggest the following:
1. From the ET waste water sampling results, QA appears that the filter aid detected. (see picture.) Do you have advice about how to solve this problem.?
- The way to solve this is to go back to the source of filter aid. Study and observe how Cold Block dispose filter aid after end of KG filter cycle. Understand first the system.
- Check this weekend the containment of used filter aid. The containment could have a problem already like damage walls, leaking compartments or excessive overflow rate, presence of turbulence, etc.
- then, correct any abnormalities you found.
- you may want to get sample also of overflow of used filter aid containment and
have it analyzed by QA to determine the magnitude of filter aid overflow.
2. After adjusting the flow rate yesterday. Resulted in higher COD, BOD and TSS of MUR.
COD O/F 976 mg/l (as normal 150-400 mg/l, std. 175 mg/l)
BOD O/F 610 mg/l (as normal 100-300 mg/l, std. 112 mg/l)
TSS 952 mg/l (as normal 100-300 mg/l)
- As expected and emailed to you before, we expect an increase in these values. But this should be temporary only, say for example two months maximum.
-What is important in this action (increasing the upflow velocity at MUR) is that
no sludge carryover from MUR (or minimal only). You get sample of solids at top of your MUR and have QA analyze it for presence of sludge or have the solids classified by QA (like for example presence of yeast, presence of filter aid, presence of sludge, etc).
- Check daily also MUR overflow for presence of sludge by looking actual. If there are many sludge overflow or if QA advise for big sludge presence at overflow, then, you reduce your upflow velocity but higher than before.
- make sure you analyze the following weekly and send me email every monday:
a. SV 1 hour each from Sampling Point no. 1 to 6.
b. MLSS each from Sampling Point no. 1 to 6.
c. MLVSS each from Sampling Point no. 1 to 6.
- send me email also daily of your waste water monitoring.
