There are three types of hedge accounting as follows:
► Fair value hedges: changes in fair value arising from exposures relating to the hedged item and changes in the fair value of the hedging item are both recognised in the profit and loss.
► Cash flow hedges: the effective portion of the changes in fair value of the hedging instrument is recognised in other comprehensive income.
► Hedges of a net investment in a foreign operation.
