For Rs 350, Pizza Hut was offering a whole family meal,
including two medium pizzas, bread, and Pepsi,
while Wimpy’s was offering mega-meals at Rs 35.
Some analysts, however, were skeptical about McDonald’s :loss-leader” strategy,
believing that customers attracted purely by these low prices would not pay repeat visits.
The second key factor,
enabling McDonald’s pricing strategy,
was the development of a local low-cost supply chain.
