I read about Bhumibol and some stuff about Thailand on Wikipedia today, so that I could try to understand better. It seems Thailand has had lots of deposed leaders and governments in the past 60 years, nobody seems to have stayed in power for very long. And so many deaths to. I read about the drug wars of 10 years ago, again so many people were killed. Perhaps this is why there is such a difference of opinion in Thailand between people who support the government and people that support the King.
It's very confusing, and if don't really understand it all, so I can't have an opinion really. When I watched the news on TV this morning they said that the government had told the police to cease fire and let the protestors approach the leadership's buildings. I hope this will mean an end to the violence.
I asked if most people supported the king because the TV news said that the government had more supporters and thet they were from the north of the country. I don't always believe the media though, even when they are trying to be honest they sometimes get things wrong.
By the way, I watched a Thai film called 'Wonderful Town' this week, have you seen it?"WeAllFalter was last online 13 minutes ago.
