Regarding overall preference. parent re¬sponses were essentially split, with 54% preferring the PPP and 46% preferring the rFLACC As seen in Figure 3, both parents and nurses rated the rFLACC as “somewhat” or “a lot”“ helpful with the pain descriptors (RN’s. 76%. parents. 86) in addition, the rFLACC scale was considered to be useful for pain assessment (RNs. 76.7%; parents. 6X.2%). Regarding accuracy of each scale to measure pain. 75.2% of RNs rated the rFLACC as more accurate than the PPP. whereas 50.5% of parents rated the PPP as a more accurate pain measure for their child. The questionnaire also included a question on “time to read and complete pain scores.” which revealed 512% of RN reporting the rFLACC could be completed in 1 minute or less and 57.6% ruting the PPP as needing 2 to 3 minutes to complete. A second question related to home Use on the parent questionnaire found that most parents/guardian (n 26. 59%) preferred the rFLACC over the PPP for home use.
