At least 10chemical treatment processes and a few biotreatment approaches are available for removing cyanide from mining effluents.cyanide treatment currently relies overwhelmingly on chemical technologies, but relatively recently biological treatment processes have been used successfully in large-scale operations.biotreatments can be reliable and economically viable.in addition to cyanide, related compounds such as cyanate, thiocyanate, ammonia, and nitrate can be of concern in disposing of mining effluents.different processes for treating cyanide affect the concentrations of the various cyanide-related compounds differently and this should be considered when evaluating cyanide treatment alternatives for a given site.
