Shinawatra Paging (Thailand), pager company which is 60%-owned by Advanced Info Service Public and 40%-owned by Singapore Telecom International, has announced plans to extend its roaming paging service, which is currently available to subscribers in Singapore. The service will be extended to Hong Kong and Malaysia by end-1994 and to Vietnam by end-1995. The service will enable Thai subscribers to the service to be paged in Malaysia, Hong Kong, Vietnam and Singapore at no extra cost. Subscribers must make it known in advance to Shinawatra that they wish to be paged overseas. Shinawatra expects to see the number of subscribers to its paging service rise by 50% to 300k people by end-1994. The comapny has obtained a loan of USDlr13 mil from a group of banks to pay for its capital expansion plans.
