1. INTRODUCTION
The beam pumps have been installed into LKU-A12 and LKU-A13 well since April 2007.These 2 wells are pilot project of rod pump installation at the A-Location in S1 field.(See in attached the proposal,Ref:P163-2006). Currently, the pumps (P-101,P-102) are operated at 5.5 SPM and can produce the production about 200 BPD gross each well.
The beam pumping unit is a machine which transfers the electrical energy to be the kinetic energy, and create a moving up &down motion. This motion will transfer a power along the sucker rod and activate a plunger pump down hole to create the pumping action like a piston in cylinder. A liquid will flow through the tubing string, a separated gas will flow through the casing, and combine together at the well head. After that all production will flow to the flow line.
The beam pump looks large and heavy, but it’s simple and easy to operate and maintenance. However, due to the pumping unit has moving parts and very heavy, so it may cause the personnel get serious injury or death if not following the procedure.
This manual has been written for the operation, maintenance personnel, and any people who may relate to the Beam pump operation and maintenance in S1. There consist of three important parts, Safety, Operation, and Maintenance. Due to the beam pumps have been installed a new technology to control the pump, SAM Well Manager, so this manual also has the instruction for basic operate the SAM unit.
Finally, the writer hopes this manual will help you understand how to basic operate and maintenance a beam pump. For the advance operation and maintenance please see in the manufacture manual.
