Results of the comparative study of ambient
ammonia-N tolerance of the juvenile white shrimps at
different salinities are shown in Fig. 2. Substantial
morality occurred at 3.0‰ in the first 12 h where
ammonia-N was >9.33 mg l-1, while mortality at
17.0‰ did not occur until 36 h exposure to the
ammonia-N concentration beyond 9.33 mg l-1.
