The job of the controller is to generate the pictures that are printed on the Xaar
printhead. Basically the transformation between logic (date objects, text, graphics
etc) - and the dots that appear on the media. At the same time, the controller manages
encoder and start sensor inputs.
There are different controllers available, with differences mainly being the logic abilities.
Which controller is right for you depends on the needs you have - simple jobs may
not need an expensive controller.
A printer consists of an ink supply and the print head. The ink supply has an automatic
ink system with an ink bottle mounted below.
