Selection curves for the two finfish species were steeper, resulting in narrower selection ranges than for the two squid species (Fig. 4, Table 2). Additionally, the 50% retention lengths for both butterfish and silver hake were less than their median lengths at maturity, by 24 mm and 36 mm, respectively.
