The Cancer Committee at each facility or center “develops and implements a process to integrate and monitor on-site psychosocial distress screening and referral for the provision of psychosocial care” (CoC, 2011, p. 76). The Cancer Committee must have a psychosocial representative (i.e., oncology social worker, clinical psychologist, or other mental health professional trained in the psychosocial aspects of cancer care) to oversee activity for the standard.
