When given the chance, young children will spend free time examining
these representations of real and imaginary places and talking excitedly about
their real and imaginary adventures, and
what the maps represent to them.
As with maps, expense is no longer a
barrier to having globes in the classroom.
The precious, expensive globe of classrooms in past years has been superseded by the inflatable globe, sold for less than
the price of a café latte. This enables any
teacher to provide one as a hands-on
learning tool for his or her students.
