If you have a graft or fistula, clean the site daily until it heals completely. Stitches will be removed, usually after about 10 to 14 days. Once the access is being used for dialysis, a small dressing will be placed over the needle sites after the treatment is done. Keep this dressing on for at least 12 hours. Keep your arm or thigh clean and dry during this time.
