Enzyme inhibition assays
The extracts tested herein exerted low to moderate level of
inhibition against both cholinesterases (Table 3). The most activeextract inhibiting AChE (29.00 ± 2.78%) was the aqueous extract of
plant sample 7, while the highest BChE inhibition was caused by the
MeOH extract of plant sample 1. On the other hand, the extracts of
V. album samples were observed to be ineffective in inhibiting TYRO
causing inhibition below 7%
Antioxidant activity assays
The methanol and aqueous extracts of all samples exerted high
metal-chelating activity, while dichloromethane extracts were
totally inactive at 2000 g/mL
