At the moment I have no solid links between Katy Perry and the NSA “Prism” program, but the names draw obvious suspicion. NSA’s Prism program has been all over the news since whistleblower Edward Snowden lifted the lid to the mainstream (we’ve been talking about privacy invasion since 2001 with the Patriot Act and whatnot). Prism is a data mining program that was initiated in 2007 under G.W. Bush under the name of the “Protect America Act” which is used to collect intelligence in order to prevent terrorist attacks. Don’t ask me if it works or not, it may be the best thing ever, but either way it’s a privacy invasion which some construe as a violation of the 4th amendment with its unlawful search of personal information.
