The GDF is divided into two parts. The first of these is the central administration of the GDF, which consists of Information and Control, the Main Service and Support Service units. The second, and most locally active, part consists of 1308 Forest Enterprise (FE) offices under the control of 217 FE Directorates, all connected to 27 separate districts in the country. FEs are, therefore, the centers that are most actively engaged in the application of forestry management strategies, as well as the management of forest resources, both of which involve Forest Management Plans1 (FMPs). As such, FEs would be the most likely beneficiaries of any given post-modern management strategy as it might apply to the implementation of the FMPs.
