Uniquely, up to 16 StoneGate Firewall/VPN engines can be clustered to provide an unmatched
level of high availability and performance needed for today's critical networks. Clustered firewall
nodes function as a single, virtual entity. The functioning of the nodes is synchronized, and
cluster nodes re-distribute traffic from nodes that become unavailable. The performance of each
added node contributes to the total throughput. New firewall nodes can be added flexibly as
traffic volumes grow, enhancing the load balancing of traffic.
