See you later!" said Fletcher as he ran happily over to his
dad and climbed up on the carriage. Fizza suddenly realized
that other students were Iaughing at him. Some girls from her
class, including Babs, walked past her.
"Is 'horse boy' your brother?" asked one.
"No, why?" said Fizza.
"Well, you're both called McIn tyre."
Fisza didn't answer.
"I think he's her boyfriend!" said Babs and they all laughed
and walked away.
Fizza watched them go. What was wrong with Babs? Why
was she being so unkind, too?
Later, just as Fizza was getting ready to go to see Fletcher and
the horses at the stables, the bell rang. Fizza answered the door
and found Billy standing on the step.
"Hi, Fizza. Are you ready?" he said. I
Xm I ready for what?"
"The movie theater! We arranged it last week! I have the
tickets!" he said.
"Oh yes! Of course!" lied Fizza. She had compIetely
forgotten.
As she ran to get her coat, she hoped that Fletcher wouIdn't
care if she didn't go to the stables that evening.
The next day Fizza felt extremely guilty as she ran into school.
She saw Fletcher sitting in a corner of the playground reading
a book.
"Fletcher! I'm so sorry I couldn't come to the stables last
night. I had lots of homeworkl" she lied
