The fist phase of this project was to develop a portable
biomechanical instrumentation package which can easily
configure with a Concept I1 rowing ergometer. The next phase
of this project will be to interface the current biomechanical
instrumentation with a gas exchange exercise system. This
exercise system can accurately measure physiological
parameters such as heamate, oxygen consumption (vo~),
carbon dioxide production (Vc02) and other useful training
data, for example, the "anaerobic threshold." Work could be
quantified and compared from both a mechanical and
physiological perspective
