In this experiment, the mean and standard deviation of
age in years, weight in kilograms and height in centimetres of
Thai traffic police in group I (working in high polluted areas)
was 32.01± 4.94 )'Ii 65.61 ± 8.83 kg. and 167.41 ± 5.81 em. The
figures for group IT (working in low polluted areas) were, 32.82
± 6.56)'Ii 66.40 ± 9.32 kg. and 168.10 ± 4.83 em. There were no
statistical differences in any of the three parameters in either of
the two groups. (Table2). It indicated that these two groups
revealed similar characteristics, but in different exposure areas.
When compared, the pulmonary functions, the vital capacities
and the chest expansions showed that the vital capacity (X ±
SD) of groups I and II were 3.18 ± 0.27 L. and 3.32 ± 0.26 1.,
